Komal Pahuja foundation came into being in the year 2014 with the passing on of Mrs. Komal Pahuja on 8 February 2014. On being a generous person Mrs.Pahuja not only cared and nurtured her family but also supported children from deprived background. She promoted many children in the field of sports, theatre and cultural activities. She believed in welfare of people, empowerment of women and upliftment of less privileged. She thoroughly believed that sports, theatre and cultural activities give youth a platform to showcase their talent and excel in same.
Keeping in mind her journey of life and what she stood for till her last, paved the way for Pahuja family to come up with the first Komal Pahuja Theatre Festival which was organised on 27 October 2014.
After witnessing the overwhelming response of the first theatre festival Mr. Pahuja got motivated and his elder daughter, Dr.Supriya Pahuja was already an established theatre artist helped him shape theater festival better.
Mr V.K Pahuja, husband of Mrs. Komal Pahuja was determined to take this festival to greater heights and to contribute to society further. Mr. Pahuja who organized sporting events as welfare activity and promoted generation of people shaped up the Komal Pahuja foundation & registration process was in process. Mr.Pahuja was looking forward to introducing the cash awards during the second komal pahuja theatre festival in the year 2015, but destiny had a different plan. On 19th October’ 2015 Mr V.K Pahuja passed away. The legend and the father of Swimming Statistics in India Mr V.K Pahuja moved on from the world. He was an NIS qualified Swimming coach of the first batch(1963), Secretary of Swimming Coaching Institute(Regd.),Committee member of 9th Asian games 1982, Swimming Statistician in Swimming Federation of India ,School Games Federation of India and was also an international Water-Polo Referee (FINA).
During his lifespan he had coached many international players for the country and has helped organize many tournaments to promote youth and created paths for many to achieve their dreams. He was a very respectable and celebrated teacher of Modern school, Delhi where he served over four decades. He was awarded the Gurudakshana Award in the year 2016 by Modern School Old Students Association.
During the lifespan of Mr.V.K.Pahuja & Mrs.Komal Pahuja the couple served, helped and contributed to Society/ others. They were known for promoting Sports, Culture and Art.
Mr. Pahuja drafted the frame work of Komal pahuja foundation which was renamed as komal and VK Pahuja Foundation in the year 2015.
God took him untimely, his vision and words remained in the form of document. The youngest daughter, Ms. Meenakshi Pahuja took on the task of getting the registration of Komal And V.K Pahuja foundation. Ms. Meenakshi Pahuja is ably supported by her Elder Sister, Dr. Supriya and the board of Komal and V.K Pahuja.
The legendary couple Mrs. Komal Pahuja and Mr V.K Pahuja will never fade away. They have left behind their experience and footsteps to follow.
